Access to gaming machines and other casino operations must be secure, and the KnoxEntry System for Gaming is a complete solution with products to meet these unique needs. System components are designed for maximum security, access, and traceability while delivering ruggedness and quality.

Benefit Summary

Benefit Summary

  • Only one key (the eKey) is needed to access locks on gaming devices
  • Can be utilized on almost any device requiring a lock
  • Easily control who has authorized access
  • An audit trail provides traceability of who gained access, where and when
  • No batteries or electrical wiring are needed for the lock core
  • Uninterrupted, secure access during power outage
  • Eliminates costly mechanical key rekeying in the event of a lost or stolen key
  • End redundant trip and labor costs incurred from missing or wrong keys
  • The eKey can be programmed to go "dead" if it is overdue for a return to its key retention device, or if questionable/inconsistent key usage is recorded.

KnoxEntry prevents the practice of picking the locks and eliminates the chance of an electronic gaming machine key being duplicated, falling into the wrong hands, being sold illegally or on a non-authorized third-party site such as eBay. It also eliminates the need to purchase additional keys to replace lost or broken keys.

The KnoxEntry System can provide significant long-term cost savings including reducing the purchase of extra keys and the time and effort of signing out keys, and eliminating the time and cost of rekeying or drilling out key cores due to missing keys. The system also requires no power at the entry points, eliminating costly and time-consuming electrical work, and allowing it to work when no power is available.

The KnoxEntry System can be leveraged throughout a casino for various uses. The locks can be retrofitted quickly and cost-effectively as no power to the locking point is required. The system can also be deployed with key vaults, padlocks, elevator boxes, riser room boxes, and other safety and security products for daily or emergency response use.

Codes allow unique access permissions based on users' security clearance and job description. The eKey activity can be monitored, modified or disabled via mobile devices such as phones, tablets, and laptops. Administrators can easily develop reports on all access activity, which is automatically recorded, including the date and time the eKey was used and on what machine or lock it was used on.

A Competitive Advantage for Gaming Machine OEMS

Slot machine keys are an essential component in the gaming and vending industry as a secure method for accessing and operating various machines. KnoxEntry is an ideal way to reduce the keys needed to one while ensuring accountability and traceability. Integrating the keys into one also provides significant long-term cost savings (e.g. reduction of keys made, and the elimination of needing to drill out a core or rekey a core). The KnoxConnect software also allows you to track maintenance and service by slot machine manufacturer.

Ideal for Slot Route Operators

Route operators must manage and service gaming machines in thousands of locations. These devices are in third-party locations, such as bars, taverns, convenience stores, and other businesses, and are not constantly watched like those in casinos, which receive nonstop surveillance. Access to who controls the route gaming units can be a daunting challenge, but KnoxEntry can provide tailored access to specific people and traces who had access to what, where and when.

Another Level of Security and Accountability for Casino Operators

Casino operations and security directors can leverage the eKey far beyond gaming machines by employing retrofit mortise and SFIC locks, which deliver cost-effective accountability for asset protection and access control for locks using U.S. standard mortise and SFIC cylinders. This can include integrating the eLock System to secure and restrict access to other areas or items within a casino that require tight security such as cash drawers, cabinets, drop boxes, counting rooms, padlocks, electronic gate switches, and elevator key boxes.
